Why do things the hard way
-Location permits and recording approvals
-Accompany a crew and assist them at times when Japanese or a Japanese way of acting/thinking is required, and sometimes I`m required to forgo the Japanese way of thinking and ignore the rules and bend the law.
-I'll chauffeur them (in a rented vehicle), so the crew doesn't have to waste time and can concentrate on the job at hand.
-Rental of video/audio equipment
-Assisting in finding and scouting locations.
-I use my "Dutch charm" to get approval at places where they are hesitant in welcoming a foreign TV/Movie crew.
-I think on my feet and am highly adaptable to changing circumstances.
-I will become "part" of the crew, which means that I help carrying things and do everything possible to ease the workload. I don't mind getting my hands dirty.
-Flexibility, no matter how often you change the planning, you'll never hear me utter a complaint.
-There are times that you just don't have the time or chance(need flexibility) to obtain a permit and shoot guerilla style. In those cases you don't want anybody one your side but me.
